Biography
When Eric Bernard was a young boy, growing up in Beauce, Quebec, all he wanted to do was play music, and specifically, play the guitar. He never imagined that music would take him around the world to see new places and hear music that would forever change the way he viewed himself as a musician. His passion, natural curiosity and sense of experimentation have resulted in three successful instrumental albums which reflect his worldly travels, and several albums with performing artists, that he either co-wrote and/or produced and performed on.
A formal music education in classical guitar and jazz interpretation created a solid foundation that enabled Eric to hit the road with confidence. He toured with well-known artists, among them, Mario Pelchat, Les Casques Bleues, Salvatore Adamo, and he went to perform in many contries around the world. Three years as a composer, arranger and guitarist with Cirque Eloize, a Montreal-based circus, and a stint on the Queen Mary II - the largest ship in the world, by the way - were also experiences that gave Eric a great sense of adventure, diversified life experience and a heap of international musical exposure that continues to influence his music today.
Drawing from cultural experiences and musical influences experienced in his travels around the world, Eric continues to make music that not only reflects where he has been, but also music that he hopes inspires listeners to feel like they’ve been there too.
